The other bikes on the tour: Surly and Mongoose
All three bikes worked well on the tour. The sum total of mechanical problems was very small:
- 1 flat tyre: a nail through the rear tyre of my Thorn Sherpa.
- 1 broken spoke: rear wheel of Will's Mongoose Randonneur a few days before tour end.
- 1 pannier rack bolt shaken out. John's Surly LHT on the rough dirt section.
