Returning to Portland to escape the rain

Well, I'd say we timed this tour rather well. After our two weeks of decent cycling conditions, El Niño season arrived in Southern California this morning and put an end to all that. It has been pouring all morning here in San Diego and strong winds are blowing all the palm fronds and flags out horizontal. At the inn where we are holed up until time to leave for our flight home, the staff is scurrying around battening everything down. The forecast is for an unbroken series of these fronts to batter the region for weeks to come.

Time to head home.

Surprisingly enough, I'm sitting in exactly the same seat I was in on the flight down. Might as well take a photo to match the one I took then.
