Day 16- Harris Beach, OR to Crescent City, CA-Welcome to CAlifornia!: Actual bike Day Friday Aug. 27th
Today we had a choice between a short 30'ish ride and a longer 48'ish very difficult ride. We took option A! We started the day looking for fuel for our camp stove. We checked every ACE and sporting goods store in Brookings no luck. Someone told us Walmart in Crescent City would have it so we just kept on riding until we got there....I mean we didn't even break for a snack or a by the side of the road stop (not smart). Well no luck at Walmart or the ACE next to it. They suggested True Value and we were in luck...thankfully. In our search for fuel we lost La Shelle and Jimmy but found Catherine. We continued our way around Crescent City and the ride was very pretty until the wind came up and our energy crashed from not eating. We found a Denny's and filled ourselves up! We then searched for a Camp and there were none so we have a warm room and bed tonight. Tomorrow big hills!!
