Two non-golfers hanging out another day at the golf and country club
We have landed in a wonderful place to spend a few days. The hotel itself is very interesting with a major focus on golfing, its superb golf course and all that goes with it. We are surrounded by ocean views, have an outstanding Onsen at our disposal, an excellent breakfast is included, and our room has plenty of room to hang out. It’s perfect for a couple of 70+ cyclists who need a break from riding to recharge. This older hotel has been well maintained and there is a good mix of guests staying at the hotel who are here to golf and people like us who are not golfers and are just enjoying where we are.
Staying near the port we see lots of activity on the water. We like the design of the hotel which offers views like this from all of their guest rooms. Some rooms have a view of both the ocean and the golf courses.
The golfing here is top notch (so we’re told, as we aren’t golfers) and many of the hotel guests come for the golfing. The hotel is situated directly by the sea on a huge property. The golf course stretches from the sea in tiers around the building. It is quite beautiful.
Like the grand design of the hotel, the guest rooms and the golf course…the breakfast buffet is huge with many options. We met a family at breakfast from France who are touring Japan in a rental camper. They had only been in Japan for a week so far. They admitted that breakfast is challenging for them. Barry gave them a few tips.
A station to grill your salmon and mackerel at breakfast.
Konjac ball, also known as yam cakes is a Japanese food. It is a rubbery, flavourless zero calories, gluten free low carb food made of yams. It may lack flavour, but it soaks up the flavours of the broth.
Pickled plums are very popular and present at every breakfast we have had. We find them to be very tart and don’t love them. Nonetheless, they are very popular in Japan.
Breakfast is very good with some Western options, but most of the choices are Japanese. We have had enough experience to understand what we are offered, have developed a taste for some of the more challenging dishes…..but for us Natto just isn’t something we enjoy.
