Scott G. to Seattle
Travel to Seattle started with bicycle breakdown. I was taking my time, so it took about three hours to disassemble the bike and get it loaded into the travel bag. It was very helpful to take pictures during disassembly and label small Ziploc bags with all of the bolts and parts. The bike bag ended up weighing 68 pounds and the duffel bag was about 48 pounds. Fortunately, Scott M. gave me MVP status on the airline I was flying and I was allowed two free bags and upgraded to first class. Check in at the airport was very easy and after a comedy of errors at the airport with three fuel trucks to gas up the plane, we finally got on our way and made it to Seattle an hour and a half late. Later in the day at Scott M’s, I reassembled the bike and took it to a local bike shop for a quick tuneup. We also reviewed our equipment and the first week of the route. We are ready to ride!
