I like gadgets and I love reading other peoples gear lists, fair play to those who have an Excel spreadsheet of all they stuff, respect to those who weight every item, I’m not that together.  Usually the last week before going is a frenzy of trying to find stuff, with mounting panic before something essential is found under a pile of outdoor stuff in the shed.

So just a basic gear list.

Transport

• Thorn Raven Discovery Tandem.  Rohloff hub, Son 28 Dynamo hub. 

• Thorn rear rack, Tubus front rack. 

Luggage.

• All Orlieb, Front and Rear Panniers, 2 Rack Packs, Bar Bag

Cooking.

• Trangia cookset, Lite my Fire campsets, sparks, 1L Esbit flask (wouldn’t leave home without it)

Shelter

• Wild country Quasar, old but gold. Kathmandu sleeping mats, Robens sleeping bags.  €3 rug from Lidl, rug with some insulation and waterproof backing, used for picnics, under the groundsheet etc, has become a tourning staple. 

Clothing etc.

• Usual mish mash of Marino wool clothing, rain and down jackets
