Day 1- Cavendish ID. to Little Boulder Campground
With our bikes loaded into Billy's truck we set off for our departure point. Stacie dropped us at the top of the first grade out of Orofino, somewhere near the hamlet of Cavendish. Bikes unloaded, at 7:30 AM we set off down Old Hwy 7 towards the town of Deary, arriving at Little Boulder Campground by 1PM and the heat of the day. Spent the rest of the day hanging out in the shade near a hand pumped water source, cold well water over the head at regular intervals. First day was rough, big climb, high temps and limited services. It was what we were prepared for but still, it was pretty daunting.
