Lodgings we liked

Borrowing an idea from another journal, here were places we thought highly enough to recommend to other cyclists. Listed in itinerary order. All were very receptive and helpful to us as bike travelers, all had Wifi (although a few were weak or only in the common areas).

Mertola: Hotel Museu, 55, Y
Moura: Hotel de Moura, 52, Y; almost a palace, most elegant stay of the trip
Monsaraz: Casa Antonia, 55, Y
Estremoz: Residencia Logadanha, 70, Y
Marvao: Casa Dom Denis, 45, Y
Caceres: Hotel Don Carlo, 56, Y; great location, feet from the historical center
Trujillo: Hostal San Miguel, 50, Y
Zafra: Hotel Balcones de Zafra, 78, Y; wonderful place, like staying in a museum
Cazalla de la Sierra: Posada del Moro, ?, Y; lovely place, great breakfast
Zahara de la Sierra: Al Lago, 85, Y
Jimena de la Frontera: La Vina de Linan, 95, Y; terrific place, great hosts, well worth the ridiculously steep climb
Gaucin: La Fructosa, 80, N
Alhama de la Granada: 66, Y; made us wish we'd been there on flamenco night, and spoke more Spanish
Granada: Shine Albayzin, 70, N; great location, felt like a bargain
