Thursday
It seems that every day either begins or ends with an uphill. Today we rode up Dubois Road in New Paltz. A little over an hour later, we were coasting over the Hudson on the impressive “Walkway Over the Hudson.”
The first refreshment stop was in Hopewell Junction, which had a small train tower and caboose for railroad enthusiasts.
We rode a paved trail next to a defunct track into Brewster through Carmel Lake to Putnam County Memorial Park. There was quite a hill at the end of the day up to the campsite. Tonight was the second evening dinner wasn’t provided but I had friends in the area. Evalena and Antonella picked me up and fed me antipasto and ravioli. It was by far the best meal of the trip.
Today's ride: 60 miles (97 km)
Total: 168 miles (270 km)
