Poking Around Uekermunde

Exploring this magical place

It was an excellent decision that we made to stay here in Uekermunde for another day to explore the place.  it is situated on a huge inlet of the Baltic Ocean and the busy little harbour is up the Uekermunde River.  We took off on our bikes rode a bit further along the track to a little harbour then back here to explore this place and the nearby beach.  The pictures tell the story though don't show how much coffee and cake we had

The dog was helping her steer to go around the harbour entrance - see the netting she has put up to stop the dog falling in

Along the path to the beach large oaks had been cut down and fairy tales carved into them. This looks as if we should be in Bremen

We finally figured how boats got further upstream. When this bridge is down it certainly doesn't look like a lifting one
