Day 41 Madrid to Albuquerque

Hills and wind do you see a theme Here

From Madrid it was a steady climb to the outskirts Albuquerque, then it's a big downhill into Albuquerque. A storm blew in so I took shelter the first place I could find having to be a tennis club. Then I went to the hostel the Mother Road hostel is in a 1910 building it's a truly unique place to stay.

The climbing in Wind had me stopping for a big break in San Antonito just a few miles before the big descent. Albuquerque is a big city, seems like 80% of the streets have bike Lanes on them, makes for very safe riding Even on the roads that don't have them the drivers are very courteous. I have mentioned before I don't like riding bikes in big cities ,but with the amount of bike lanes that are in the city it makes it quite almost enjoyable.
