We are in the midst of gearing up for a months long post-retirement ride through Asia.  Jobs abandoned. House decluttered (almost). Accounts and other administrative necessities organized for remote life. New bike gear purchased. We are six weeks away from taking off and are venturing out on this 2.5 week shakeout tour of BC's Gulf Islands.  This trip cobbles together a number of trips we have taken before: Galiano, Saltspring, Gabriola in the south, Denman and Hornby, Quadra and Cortes in the north, and Texada.  

Though we are not new to bike touring through these islands, it will be good to get our bike legs going again. It will also be good to take a break from moving stuff into the garage, and fussing around endlessly with online logins, usernames and passwords.  It will also give us a break in period on blogging on this platform, and to test whether we have the wherewithal to keep it up.
