Trip Summary - The Grumbys’ (Ron and Jen) Pre-tour Shakedown Ride - CycleBlaze

Trip Summary

Our train back to Portland didn't leave until  the  afternoon so we ate pancakes at a little place in the neighborhood and rode around Eugene and up Skinner Butte. That was a leg burner but not too long. We ate lunch up there and then rode up and down the Willamette River trail near downtown. It's a nicely laid out system. We then headed for the Amtrak station where we loaded our bikes for the trip back home to Portland.

The highlights included meeting Jim, Keith and Holly on their TransAm ride.  It's always helpful to talk to someone who has done this. And the ride from Sisters over McKenzie pass was made even better with three people who were seeing this part of Oregon for the first time.
