Paros

We ended our tour of the Cyclades at Paros, the hub of these islands. It's fairly large also, but it's more developed and busier than Naxos and we found it the least interesting of the set. We stopped here two nights, staying in the port town of Parikia. On our layover day we took a loop ride of the island. Our favorite spot on the ride was Lefkes, a very colorful small interior village. Parikia also is very attractive, but for us it didn't quite measure up to our other stays. No doubt that we'd gotten badly spoiled by now though - if this was the only island we'd seen, I've no doubt we'd have been enchanted by it.

The Frankish Castle (oddly named, since it was built by Venetians), Parikia. They apparently just recycled whatever they had lying around in building it.
