We’re back…After a 14 hour, 915 mile drive from our house to Minneapolis I’m ready to restart my summer ride. The new plan is Minneapolis, MN to Traverse City, MI. It’s about 700 or so miles and I have 11 days before I meet up with Mrs G, Tom, and Melanie. I leave tomorrow morning about 7:30 and Pea Soup Green (“PSG”) is loaded and ready to roll. When PSG didn’t know I was watching, I caught him singing an old Willie Nelson tune: wait for it…

On the Road Again

Goin’ places that I've never been. Seein’ things that I may never see again. And I can't wait to get on the road again…

Ok well maybe I was singing it…or maybe it was a duet 😜

I went over to the Mall of America…the Mecca for all of the shopaholics in the Midwest. If you don’t know about it, google it. It is huge and it also has an indoor amusement park for the young ones and/or the young at heart.  But I digress…so I went there to get some dinner and some postcards. 

Ring, ring..hello? It was Sohil calling. An old friend I hadn’t seen in 3-4 years. He lives in Minneapolis and quit the corporate world to open a restaurant. At his insistence, I jumped in a Lyft and headed for Raag, his restaurant. The place is really, really nice. The staff is great. And the food was absolutely worth the 14 hour drive!  I may have to bring Mrs G out just for dinner. First “ good people I met “ story of the trip. Hoping there will be lots more to share. 

Ok so now it’s just get some rest and get up early to start pedaling. But before I go, one last story. I wish I had my camera out to have captured the funny looks I got when I dropped off my rental car and pulled my bike and packs, etc.  out of the back and rode through the garage and onto the highway. Probably not something the folks at Enterprise see everyday. Oh well, it’s not like I have ever claimed to be normal.
