A member of the family that owns the Gadsden Hotel in Douglas AZ gave us a tour of the hotel, which has quite a history. Certain underground rooms (still preserved) were used as a speakeasy, a poker room, and led to tunnels (for smuggling liquor or drugs) from across the street and even from 10 blocks away to Agua Prieta (in Mexico, which is that close). Several movies were filmed here.  Part of the hotel is said to be haunted.  The hotel bar is decorated with cattle brands from AZ ranches, including the 26 Bar Ranch owned by John Wayne (pictured below between sets of branding irons).
