To start the ride today, we took the 45-minute ferry at 8 a.m. across Mobile Bay from Dauphin Island to Fort Morgan. Although relatively small, the ferry can carry up to 28 cars. Today, it easily carried 4 vehicles for our support staff, plus about 6 unrelated vehicles, plus our 35 riders and their bikes.

Here's a photo of me and my wife Rozan on the ferry. When we reached Fort Morgan AL, she drove off in her rental car and I biked off toward Milton FL, our destination for the day.
