Today I got Rodbike back from the local bike shop, ready for me to disassemble and pack it for the flight to San Diego on 3/9.  With the steel frame, thick (puncture resistant) tires, internal-geared rear hub, rear rack, fenders, electric generating front hub and headlight, and other touring-bike extras, the bike weighs 32 pounds.  Much more than my lightest carbon-fiber road bike (18 pounds).
