At 54, Betsy is probably the youngest rider in our group. She grew up in Miami but now lives in Richmond CA.  From 1992 to 1995, she lived in Israel. With a degree in environmental studies, she went there on a fellowship for young Jewish-American leaders and stayed for schooling in culinary arts. She has a 20-year-old son in CA and a 21-year-old daughter in Washington DC. She's taking the  cross-country bike ride as "time out" from her IT management work. She's not sure what she'll do after the trip is done.
