Beaune to Nolay

The Hôtel Dieu in Beaune is one of those must see places ergo we delayed our departure this AM for a visit. It is now a museum of the hospital established in 1443 to treat the poor during the Hundred Years’ War that raged throughout Burgundy. It remained in use until the 1970s. There is now a new hospital still funded by the large estate that of course has a winery. After our visit we cycled the Route des Grands Cru to Nolay a very tiny village. We had a picnic lunch in Meursault.
