Warm Springs , ID - Elk Mtn Resort, ID (outside of Stanley): A 14 mile climb to the top of the pass.

With all of the layers of mountains we don't have to worry about running out of great scenery any time soon. We picked up ponderosa pine cones at this rest stop to send to our daughter in Florida.

I'm sure the large orange mile marker signs are for the snow plows in the winter. However, they were very visible to loaded cyclists climbing the pass ever so slowly!

Finally, we finished the 14 mile climb. The downhill was non-existant. We were both sure we had flat tires or were riding through wet cement. We didn't get to the good downhill until after Stanley 25 miles later.

We saw very few potties on our trip, especially in Idaho. We should have known we were approaching the upscale tourist town of Stanley when we saw this gussied up potty.

My camera couldn't capture the vastness of the Sawtooths. They were worth all of the climbing we did to see them.
