Rewiring in Palm Aire

Today's ride, through an area (more like a subdivision) called Palm Aire, started not far from our hotel. Maybe three or four miles max and just down University Parkway. It was a warm day too . . . but then, we didn't push off until almost 2:00 PM. But then, it was a short ride, less than 35 miles, so there was no rush.

The other reason we started later is that we wanted to have a group breakfast/lunch that included Brad's wife, Elke. Also, this was our last ride with Wayne, who would be heading back to Washington on Saturday. So we started the day at Der Dutchman Restaurant, a popular, Amish-themed establishment, which had a gift shop full of knickknacks, only one of which caught my eye:

A great message to start the day with!

Then, off to our ride, a modified Sarasota-Manatee Bike Club ride, modified by Brad in course to include the Nathan Benderson Lake.

The ride into Palm Aire, a subdivision with a focus on . . . that's right, GOLF.

Mostly single-family homes that all look alike, down to the color they are painted.
