Quy Nhon to Song Cau

After a very pleasant stay in Quy Nhon and a short day planned, we weren't in a rush to leave. Nonetheless, ingrained habits are hard to break and we were awake before five o'clock and while we enjoyed a cup of tea and coffee on our balcony we watched the locals making use of the beach area to swim, run, cycle, dance, play volleyball and a whole lot of other wholesome activities.

We were on the road at about six o'clock after a banh mi on the beach at the southern end of town.

Then it was a stiff climb up to highway one and a unhurried cycle down to Song Cau, birding along the way and managing to pick up three lifers (Richard's Pipit, Collared Kingfisher and Crested Myna).

The route southward from Quy Nhon to Song Cau hugged the coast and was quite picturesque at times.

The Laura Hotel at the entrance to Song Cau is basic but fits the bill at 200K VND.

Today's ride: 52 km (32 miles)
Total: 3,033 km (1,883 miles)
