Preah Vihear Temple

We set off for Preah Vihear temple soon after six o'clock and were at the ticket office at the base of the mountain just before seven thirty. However, the staff only arrived at after eight o'clock. The entry is $10 and a motorcycle taxi is $5 return. Some CGOABikers have ridden and pushed their bicycle up to the temple but we took the easy way out. Another option is to use the more than 2200 steps up the ancient stairway. The view from the top is magnificent but we only got parts of it due to the swirling mist and clouds. Probably the most attractive parts of the temple for us were the walkways between the gopura or gates.

After a late breakfast of fried rice we cycled back to Sra Em.
