Koh Ker Templing

We had breakfast at the guest house and headed up to Koh Ker's temples. There are the remains of more than 180 temples all built over a period of only 30 years in the early tenth century. Little restoration has been done but many of them are still magnificent. The seven story high pyramidical Prang is righfully the jewel in Koh Ker's crown but the other temples are also worth a few hours of enjoyment. The remote location meant that, apart from five minutes at one of the temples when two Chinese tourists were there with a guide, we never shared any of the temples with any other visitors. The birding was also great with a higher density of birds than we have seen in other parts of Cambodia.
