Another night with howling winds blowing again. At least the tent was dry! And lucky we have a tunnel tent - I don't think any other type of tent would cope with the relentless winds Australia has!
A little bit of spitting rain when we went to bed (8pm! yeah I know that is going to have to change when we get home - I have until Thursday night to practice staying up later than 10pm so I can see out the Geelong Cats first finals game!) But that was it. A warmish night probably around 10 degrees again but todays high was only around 17 degrees. The westerly winds are strong and have a touch of Victorian cold to it as opposed to the South Australian westerlies which were a wee bit warmer but it could have something to do with the fact that we have dropped a long way south since Port Augusta!
Despite it being cold by our standards (well mine at least) the winds blew us here to Pyramid Hill as the road travels predominantly east all the way. More canola and grain fields on our way here and no the photo below is not the same one as the previous days!
No traffic around today as the road to Boort was a back road and we were on it early and no one gets up early anymore! Then the road from Boort to Pyramid Hill was a tad more busier by a dozen cars! We get to Pyramid Hill at just after 12pm so made good time and it only took us 4 1/2 hours to get here.
The caravan park is a community one and you pay at the pub which is on our way through to the park and is located on the corner of the road that we take to get home tomorrow.
Tomorrow is about 90km to Huntly. Hoping the wind swings to the north west!
Today's ride: 90 km (56 miles)
Total: 7,992 km (4,963 miles)
