Liverpool, NS to Shelburne, NS
Finally, sunshine. And warmth! And blue sky! So the day started well. It was already in the mid-60s when we started out of Liverpool.

Liverpool is a cute, smallish town on the Mersey River in Nova Scotia as well as in England.
After leaving town, we continued southward toward Yarmouth along NS-3, the scenic route. And today we had much better viewing pleasure!

We were hoping to take the Trestle Trail at this point and maybe shave a couple of miles off NS-103, our next turn. Unfortunately, even though RWGPS and Google show it as a continuous trail, in reality, the trail stops right before the old railroad trestle, and there is no way to cross the waterway.

That was a bit disappointing as we thought we would have time to do some trail riding today. So back to NS-103 and the longish haul to Shelburne. NS-103 has nice wide shoulders but is generally on a straight alignment for long stretches with many long, slow climbs.
But most of what you see is a very wide right-of-way, trees, and hills. We finally arrived in Shelburne, a sleepy little port town on a bay of the Atlantic Ocean.

Not too many places were open, but we finally settled on a waterfront pub restaurant. Happy had cod, and I had lasagna. Need carbs for tomorrow!
Today's ride: 47 miles (76 km)
Total: 3,189 miles (5,132 km)
