Lewes-Rehoboth Loop

A lazy morning getting up but a full agenda.

First, breakfast at Ocean Grill with John, Jim, Happy, Jerry, Laurent, and Tom. Then a tour of John's candle business. John makes beeswax candles using antique chocolate molds through a somewhat complex but interesting multi-step process, partially captured here:

Afterward, we saw Laurent off (back to Washington), and Happy, Jerry, and I took a tour of Lewes and Rehoboth using the Junction and Breakwater Trail (to Rehoboth) and the Gordon Pond Trail (back to Lewes).

Happy and I had used the first trail into Lewes at the end of the Southern Leg, but Jerry had not ridden it before, and none of us had ridden the Gordon Pond Trail. Both were pretty stunning (and busy, given the holiday).

The Cape May-Lewes Ferry departing Lewes. This is our route tomorrow; the view is from the historic spotting towers located in the park.

A very odd "sand" graffiti at the base of the viewing tower!
