I am three days behind on this blog, so it is catch-up time.

We spent our last morning in Sintra walking through some beautiful gardens, and then it was time to load the bikes and gear for our 3 hour bus ride to our starting point of Monsaraz. We stayed in a lovely hotel there, and the rest of our friends got fitted on their rental bikes, while the lovely "Surley" couple looked on, with fear. The Surleys are a little concerned about keeping up to these hotshot "roadies", but I reassured them, that they are tough, not to mention, very beautiful. We shall see what tomorrow brings......
