Day 2

Alpine,Ca to Jacuma,Ca.

No riding today as  we choose to make today a forced rest day due to the poor weather.

Woke up to a rainy,  very cold, 35 degree day. Winds were being reported as  below:

Wind Advisory

12:48 PM PST, 2/18,expires 6:00 PM PST, 2/19

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM PST Monday...

* winds... areas of northwest to west winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph and isolated gusts to 60 to 70 mph.

* Location... strongest gusts near the mountains... and in the Coachella Valley north and east of Interstate 10.

* Impacts... strong winds will make travel difficult for high- profile vehicles. Blowing dust and sand may reduce visibility to near zero in a few locations.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution."

Margie MorrellWhat fun to be able to follow your journey especially in the comfort of our home while sipping coffee. I will make this my morning reading material (sorry Times Picayune). Be safe, have fun and high fives to all of you. Margie
