Cuba is the only country in the Caribbean with a working railway. It is old and slow and it can take 14 hours to cross the island lengthways. These days, trains run on diesel. Once they went on hot water but that's out of fashion now even in a country with an oil shortage and so they have been left - irony of ironies for a steam train - to rust to death.
