A few years ago while doing my first bicycle tour on the Empire State Trail/ Erie Canal documented here as Brown’s Folly, I met a few men from the Philadelphia area. They generously invite me on their multiday rides.

  The Philly Boys invited me to do the C&O/GAP Trail with them the third week in June. While 5 days seemed ambitious, I was feeling strong after my recent multi-week tour. I packed out my new-to-me, Surly Disk Trucker with a few kits and camping gear. Philly Bob texted me the itinerary.
