Day 2
Sunday, Father's Day
When I woke up, the rain had stopped but it looked like the river had risen. I packed up my gear and cooked up some instant coffee and oatmeal. The porta potty wasn’t disgusting. But some anti-bacterial gel would have been nice.

I tried to get an early start. The Boys stopped every 10 miles to eat and regroup, so I usually caught them. The mosquitos were present in biblical numbers and had no problem attacking any exposed skin. The rain was on again, off again. There weren’t any heavy downpours, just periods of heavy drizzle and a light misting. Chippy-chippy, as they say in Guatemala. Eventually we made it to Williamsport.
There, we ate in a pizzeria where ranch dressing seemed to be a thing. We made a group decision to camp at Jordan Junction Campsite, which was about 15 miles short of the White Rock Campsite originally planned. I was very happy with this decision. I set up my tent while it was still light. The mosquitos were in full force. As darkness fell, it began to rain. I called it a day. A few trains passed by in the night but they weren’t as close or as noisy.
