Day 255-256: Croatia and Slovenia
Cath needed to be in Ljubljana (who doesn’t like to say that city name?), and we didn’t want to spend many Schengen days getting there.
So we took the train... is what we would have said if we were sensible. But we’re not. We rode as fast as we could to get to Ljubljana in two days. We gave ourselves three. But there was a storm forecast (bringing >20mm rain!!!), which completely failed to materialise. To avoid the storm (which didn’t happen), we rode our normal 3 days in 2. 260km in 2 days. It was pretty flat, so not such a big deal.

But it did mean we got to Ljubljana a day early and we stayed at a nice WarmShowers place on the edge of the city.
We spent the morning in the city, before I (Stephen) peeled off and left Cath to her bus/train/train/bus, etc that would spit her out in Germany somewhere.
Cath is on alternative means of transport for a while, visiting family and having a good time eating through Germany and Italy, while Stephen is going to try to get to Nordkapp. No-one is quite sure why.
This blog format doesn't lend itself to us splitting up and going in different directions so we'll see how it goes.
