The days are getting unseasonally warmer, and hence my morning departures are getting earlier so that I finish my ride before the peak of the day's heat. I left the hotel quietly after my porridge and coffee. The desert road was smooth and undulating as it made its way South Eastwards. The scenery today was slightly more varied. I rode past a depression in the land at the bottom of which was a small lake - it was interesting to note that water marks along the slope of the depression indicated where the lake's level used to be. Now, due to climate change, the lake had dried to a fraction of what it used to be. This is similar to the plight faced by the Aral Sea in Kazakhstan. I stopped for lunch at Sarimoy Restaurant and took advantage of their WiFi to send family news that I was ok. Tonight, I had no phone signal and the small hotel just outside Sarimoy (Kemping Sarimoy Motel) that I was staying at tonight had no WiFi. This was the first time I have ever been out of phone contact on a bike tour -  This did not even happen in the depths of the  Sahara desert in Egypt and Sudan!

Today's ride: 85 km (53 miles)
Total: 850 km (528 miles)
