Rocamador

We enjoyed an easy day today - a short but mostly uphill ride to Rocamadour, a thoroughly amazing sight.  We had another warm, fine day once the morning fog burned off the valley.  The many highlights of the day included:

  • A good buffet breakfast at the hotel.
  • Purchasing a pitcher from a pottery artist’s studio in Alvignac (still with us, tucked away somewhere in the storage unit);
  • Passing many other cyclists (individuals and in tour groups) in and around Rocamadour;
  • Rachael found a blouse she liked at a shop in Rocamadour;
  • Fields filled with tiny newborn sheep running after their mothers;
  • A tasty galette and salad lunch in Rocamadour, including an enjoyable visit with a British couple on a walking tour;
  • Lounging in the sun by the side of the hotel’s swimming pool after we returned for the day;
  • Dinner sitting on a picnic bench by the side of the river.

(I think the photos below are all from Rocamadour and this day’s ride, but they weren’t labeled and I’m not certain.  As good a place to drop them as any, I guess.)
