A Day to Explore Aquileia

Aquileia is a must see Roman town in this region of Italy. Visiting Roman ruins and the many historical sites make it feel like a living museum. What a treat.

The grocery store in Aquileia had local wine on tap. You could fill up a litre bottle for 2.20 euros.

Barry climbed the bell tower and took a few photos of Aquileia and the countryside. In the distance are the Alps. We will be riding towards them tomorrow

This crazy wild kitten arrived at the guesthouse five days ago and has decided to move in. We gave it some affection and attention and it came running whenever it saw our bike. At breakfast on the second day I caught it helping itself to the breakfast buffet.

A view from the balcony at our guesthouse in Aquileia. Those dark clouds could turn ugly
