Day 32 - Sweet Ever After
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
Woke up and got some breakfast. Got to call Mom and had cereal! So good. Biked to the airport after packing up. Got to call Mimi and Papa right before arriving. I got there and saw dad. It’s so crazy. We packed up and had mom’s banana bread. So good. Eventually got going. Took some bike paths through town and eventually climbed our way up to the road the takes us to the Dalton Highway. Lots of big climbs. With big descents. Dad is carrying 90 lbs of gear so he’s much slower but it feels good to take it much easier. So grateful to have him here. We stopped for lunch at the top of a big climb. A big fire was popping up in the distance. Had some tortillas and pb. So good. All around 5/5 stars on the food today. Descended from there and climbed. Had a couple creek crossing where we filled up with cold water. It’s pretty toasty today and the smoke is affecting my breathing I think. Anyway, had 1 more climb and lots of mosquitoes. As we descended we had some construction. A rough road and then a flagger. The bane of my existence. Got talking with 2 motorcyclists, Chad and Matt. And then the flagger said we need to get in the truck. Thankfully we only had 2 miles to the campsite so I hopped in and said I’ll be back in the morning. They dropped us off, we set up camp, filled up water, ate dinner, got swarmed by mosquitoes and heading to bed soon. So good to not go to bed alone! And get to camp not too late. Ready for tomorrow! Not too many more of these days! Pictures will probably all be added after the trip sometime :(
