Day 25 - Sing Unto the Lord

“Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things!…Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!…Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the hills sing for joy together before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth.” Psalm 98:1, 4, 8-9

Another day. This is so hard. Woke up. Got going and snoozed a bunch of alarms again.  Headed out and had a decently nice morning. Pretty chilly tho. Like really cold lol. It warmed up but it’s always frustrating to always be undressing or layering up. Grocery store at 27 didn’t have much. So frustrating. Met a guy Nathan biking to Prudhoe Bay too. Had some brutal climbs. Like really brutal. I was so cooked from yesterday. I did not move fast at all. But it was important to move slow rather than hurt myself early on. The hills actually weren’t horrible. It’s just the really short endless hills that are brutal. It felt good to climb. I got lots of cheers and thumbs up. That always feels nice. Jordan passed me again same with some car from Milwaukee. Chatted with them for a second as they drove beside me. Descended into town with some wind and a pretty poor chip seal road. For those that don’t know, it’s not fun. It’s just gravel on tar. Took awhile at the gas station and got talking with Nathan again and got some chicken tenders. Same with another guy that told me there’s a public starlink. Got to talk to mom. So good. Took awhile but it was nice. Got going again and tried to settle in. Then the chip seal got horrible. Like really bad. So frustrating. I tried not to let it kill me mentally but physically it took so much out of me. Got to see some really beautiful lakes tho. Got a lot more cheers and thumbs up, even a car put out their speaker so I could listen 😂. Climbs weren’t too bad. It was so hard tho. Every mile seemed to take forever. At 38 left I was really struggling. Still so far out. A couple miles later I had a climb. I ended up crying just a bit because it is so hard. Not the climb but everything. Like this is simply the hardest thing I have ever done. Finally made it up some hills and descending was so nice. And the chip seal finally changed with a beautiful view after 50 miles of a brutally bumpy road. Woke up mom and dad because I had another starlink! Sorry 😬. Had 10 more that went rather fast. Really long day. ~16 hours from start to finish. Got to the beautiful lake and met Matt. Such a great time talking with him. Really awesome guy. Got some stuff done and heading to bed!!!! Tomorrow is a new day.

Just don’t forget the clouds. They made a U shape around me. Leaving blue skies and sun above me and storms all around. Only the Lord. Truly incredible.
