Day 21 - Lord From Sorrows Deep I Call
“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.” Psalm 42:5-6
Posts are gonna be very spotty from now on. I was told I’ll probably have a stretch of 400-600 miles with no cell service so it may mean I’m just posting a lot at a time. Anyway, I woke up and was frustrated because I only got 6 hours of sleep. I was exhausted and it’s really not fun when you wake up tired. I tried just pushing through but it was really hard mentally as there wasn’t anything for 95 miles. I got to talk to mom but was honestly just trying not to fall asleep. Got to talk to Dad trying to kind a good route getting through a town. I stopped around 85 and finally felt a bit more awake. As I rode on a bike path through town, some guy stopped me and warned about a bear coming up. I passed it about 15-20 feet off the trail and it was a momma and her 3 cubs. So crazy. I then got to a bike shop at 95 so that they could fix my derailleur. Got to talk to Papa briefly before entering and got some McDonald’s while I waited. It’s really hard to not get a time off the bike to relax. I was so rushed and stressed out the entire time. I got track to the bike shop and it had been far longer than I had hoped for. I immediately had a climb and talked to Dad and I felt awake for the first time all day. I called mom and was so overwhelmed. I was crying a bit lol cause I was so stressed out with everything I have to take care of off my bike. Riding is the easy part it’s everything else that I do hard to maintain. Felt a bit better after ranting to them (thanks) and just tried to get locked in. I talked to Caleb briefly and everything hurt. Nothing was in much pain but just so fatigued. Such a brutal feeling. The smoke was really getting on my nerves too. I think it’s making it really hard to breathe because that’s felt very off recently. As I road, I went past a forest device road and probably just 30 feet away was a massive grizzly. So cool but so terrifying! Also I had 15 chicken nuggets in my back pocket so it was fun to munch on them as I rode. Finally got there and the last 10 miles you always can go further. It’s just a mental game. Made it there and met some very kind Dutch people. They made it so sweet and Suzanne, the park ranger gave me a senior discount 😂. Met Sally and her dog as she walked by. So fun! Called Dad and went to bed. Stomach is really not doing well at all. Praying it feels better.
