Day 20 - Shoulders

“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.” Psalm‬ ‭121‬:‭1‬-‭8‬

Sorry for the late post. Yesterday I was quite energized. Got going and took awhile packing up. Everything was so smoky and had a nice powdering of ash. I realized pretty soon that my front derailleur was t working but it did at different times. Had some massive climbs in the first 15 miles and got to talk to Mom and Dad. Felt really energized but breathing was out of control probably cause of the smoke. There were a couple big climbs so I just had those as my goal to get to before a nice descent. It was pretty chilly but every climb I would get pretty sweaty. Got to talk to Caleb and then Ben. Listened to lots of music which was delightful. Also got to do a group call with Elise and Ainsley as we were all working out in 3 different countries. Quite fun. Got to talk to Ellis for quite some time. I climbed and then hit a town where I met some guy from Florida. People make me feel like I’m famous out here 😂. I also got to meet Jason who was from Dawson Creek. Such a genuine guy and he gave me $20 for a cinnamon roll 80 miles down the road. He was so joyful. I wish I could see him again. I actually climbed the last hill and made it to the cinnamon bun place. Saved it for later 💪. Rode down and called mom and dad. So many waterfalls. It was actually insane. The last gas station I was at, I met Mike and Doug. It feels like a pilgrimage with everyone going to Prudhoe Bay. Kinda fun. Great guys. I’ll see them in a few days when they come back down. Stomach is really not feeling good but the Cinnabon was great! Set up camp real quick trying to not get eaten alive. And went to bed so fast.
