Day 19 - Anchor
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2
You take what the day gives you. And today the day didn’t let me ride! Well it did somewhat. I woke up after getting a great night of sleep. I eventually got out of bed and started planning the next few days. Yesterdays fires that popped up has the road shut down. So I decided I’m going to do a long detour adding about 500 miles. Not too disappointed as I have no other option but to go around! Got to call Mom and then Papa. Then then I went 9 miles back into town to get a water filter. I got to talk to Mr. Fedyski riding in. So good. Got a water filter, dry sack, and rain pants. Grinder back up the hill and into the headwinds. Glad I didn’t even get the option to ride to today because the wind sucks. Got back and planned out some days and got to just relax. Got to talk to Mom and Lucy for some time. Always great. Got to bounce some ideas off Dad about the next days. Feeling pretty confident about having to reroute. It looks like it’ll be a much more secluded road with even less gas stations. Planned a lot for the next days, called Caleb, and then Josie for some time. Got dinner of chicken tenders at the gas station. I left my portable charger there and they said they’d watch it. Went back and it was pretty much fully charged. Glad it didn’t get stolen! I also found a camping chair earlier in the day so that’s been a good friend to me. I nice switch up from my bike seat or the infrequent picnic tables. Called JT, packed up and got ready for bed. Relaxing day! Ready for tomorrow to leave!! Pics are finally in from the last few days. Thanks for waiting :) I didn’t realize it had been since day 16 😬
