Val d’Aosta day 10- Ponte out and back

Lys River valley with giant boulders-

Final day of the Val d’Aosta tour! I had hoped for more legs but the cumulative days took their toll so I turned back after 10 miles but Brody, of course, finished the whole thing plus bonus miles.

One thing I definitely enjoy here is seeing the daily life. As we head out in the morning, it’s so fun to see people doing their thing: walking the dog, heading to work, gardening, going shopping or who knows what. Such a privilege to have done this tour and seen this incredible area of Italy (with peeks at France and Switzerland) and I will cherish these memories forever. Onward to the next tour! So a search and keep an eye out!

The climb ended at a ski area of course. This particular one (Monterosa) has very advanced ski runs above double Diamond (red). Didn’t even know that was a thing.

One of the many hydroelectric damns we’ve seen in the Aosta Valley.

Seems like a glacier at the end of every climb.

Lost count of how many bell and clock towers we’ve seen.
