Ceske Budejovice: The town of the real Budweisser

Altough it was fine it was very cold and we had strong head wind for most of the days. We passed through many small villages but could only find one coffee stop all day,

These are the signs we have been following through the Czech Republic. The are clear and consistently there. Maps of the huge number of cycle routes can be obtained free at Tourist Information Centres. The routes are nearly all on very quite roads (often with terrible surfaces). It makes route finding so easy. Why can't New Zealand do something cost effective like this rather than the grandiose scheme John Keys has of the disconnected expensive cycle ways that are planned. With this approach you can make a proper journey rather than a day trip.
