Preamble - Almost around the bay in three days - CycleBlaze

Preamble

There is a ride held in mid October each year known as Around the Bay in a Day covering a distance of either 250km or 210km with 100km and 50km variants for the not so experienced riders. All up it attracts about 16,000 riders, the limiting factor for entries being the ability of the ferries at the mouth of the bay to carry riders.
This ride is planned to be approximately 170km perhaps a bit more if we elect to ride home along a trail from the nominal finishing point at Frankston, one of the terminal stations of the Melbourne suburban rail network.hence the title, Nearly around the Bay in three days.

This time I am using Ortlieb Classic rear panniers instead of the Ortlieb Rollers
