Night 4: BIRDS!

This was so damn cool I thought it was worth an entry all its own.

Last night brought dramatic weather, which was interesting in itself, as my neighbors tent was blown away in one gust. But the more intersting thing was a flock of birds...

They would hang out in the trees by the lake, all flocked together in the foliage. It was creepy and awesome all at once, as the trees seems animated and alive with motion. Then, using some signal that only the birds know, they would fly off in a wave, all flocked together, twisting in the wind, only to circle around and end up in the very same tree. It was soo cool!

I tried to capture it with a few pictures.

BTW, this all happened at the little state park in Fruita, CO. The campground and facilities are excellent and I highly recommend it to touring cyclist, or anyone else for that matter.

Dramatic weather!
