Today, as I sit 'on call' at my job, yet nonetheless sipping a glass of Jacob's Creek Cabernet Sauvignon, it is time to reflect on who will be carrying what on this tour.As you can see, there is a brief (and no doubt as yet, incomplete) list of what I intend to take with me - augmented by the recent arrival of a brand, spanking new mug from Thermos ... Aujourd'hui, je suis « d'astreinte » et à l'heure de ces mots, suis installé paisiblement devant mon Mac à siroter tranquillement un bon petit rouge de chez Jacob's Creek. J'ai donc assez de temps pour réfléchir à ce que je vais prendre avec moi cette fois-ci.Comme vous l'aurez sans doute vu, il y a une liste (pas encore complète) de tout ce qui j'envisage d'emmener - liste qui ne cesse de croître avec l'arrivée d'une grande tasse Thermos...

As you would expect from a loving boyfriend-cum-husband-to-be, I shall be carrying the lion's share of the weight on this trip. I hope that Penelope and I have many, many more years of touring to go, and as her strength increases, so will the weight that she can carry. But as of now - and we are at T-minus eight days, ladies and gentlemen! - her panniers will be loaded with little more than her clothes, her sleeping bag, her Slinglight chair, and any personal items that she wishes to take. Comme vous pouvez l'imaginer, un homme amoureux prendra la plupart du poids sur lui, afin que sa dulcinée s'habitue au cyclotourisme sans se faire du mal. J'espè que Pénélope et moi aurons beaucoup de voyages devant nous, mais pour l'instant, elle doit se concentrer sur son « entraînement ».
