Wind is not my friend… - Santa Cruz, CA - CycleBlaze

Wind is not my friend…

Goed Morning everyone .. There is hope (yet) for today, on Monday,  as it is NOT raining! 🫣 ( at the moment)…Perhaps we will only have to deal with wind ( as usual) and not the two part combo.

It is expected to be a longer ride as we leave here from Lemmer on to other places!

Our tour has been disrupted by a few people with “colds”, and one did have covid, so we lost a guide (!) who will be replaced today with the wife of the bicycle rentals we have here on the barge, who is from Wervershoof. She used to guide many years ago, so we know she is “experienced”.  It WILL be fun!

Now some photos!

Princess Margriet Kanaal ..Even from the inside of the cabin it’s wet…

Karen PoretTo Laura SeiditaYes, Laura.. but it was a photo op only! It disappeared for the rest of the day, but returned for an hour at the end of our ride when we reached Urk. More to come! And, no mistaking the pop up bricks or curbs! ( your story line) 😅

How fun! Craft table in coffee stop restaurant. For the kids to keep them entertained while the older folks eat and dine!

Tom FlournoyI presume this was all provided by the tour company? Did you have to carry it yourself, or did someone else carry it? You might have mentioned this before, but are you riding an eBike or a regular bike that they provided for you? -Mark

Karen PoretTo Tom FlournoyThe food we all bring along in our panniers for the days ride is provided in the dining room in the morning at breakfast. You prepare what you wish to bring along, or not. No e-bikes at all.

Tom FlournoyTo Karen PoretAm I missing something, or am I viewing it wrong? I'm looking at the V-shaped contraption in the foreground. How do you get to the very edge? -Mark

Karen PoretTo Tom FlournoyWell, I am really not certain because we were on the other side of the fence where this was, which was not open at the time! Sorry for the confusion, but glad it makes us all think !
