Last ride in Croatia

This morning the boat dropped us off in Njivice and we rode along the coast, climbed some hills, sped down some downhills and had lunch in Cizici where you can take a famous mud bath that will take 10 years off your age…. None of us tried it…. Then it was over land back to Omisalj where we started our Croatian biking adventure. The Andela Lora was in port waiting for us and we all jumped in the water from the boat to cool off as the ride was so hot this afternoon. The cold Adriatic felt wonderful! After relaxing a bit we headed up a zig zag path to the hill top old town of Omisalj.

greta combsI wouldn't even want to walk down this path - unless I had walking poles!

These stones have carvings of very old Slavic words and letters but they are not readable by most Croatians today. They were created by Constantine the philosopher.

We stopped in this village for the viewpoint. From there we could see to most of the towns that we had been to

greta combsOh wow...I can't help but think how much more these colors stand out against concrete and stone than they would against trees and grass.

greta combsI have been interested all along your Croatia trip to see how much more colorful the inside of churches is than in, say, England. Here there are so many pastel colors.
