Goodby Istria - Hello Zagreb

This morning we said goodbye to the Andela Lora and the friends we made during our tour. We had a great time on our bikes in Istria and thoroughly enjoyed the azure waters on Croatia’s coast. Then it was on to Zagreb where we will fly home. We visited the market, explored Zagreb’s old town and bought some souvenirs and gifts.

Goodbye Andela Lora, you showed us a great time. The crew and the guides were great and made our time wonderful

Some undulating hills along the way. Every time we were going to have a series of up hills and down hills our guide would say we would have undulating hills.

Well, some of us may have had Gelato. Do you know, gelato is lower in fat than ice cream? This lays out the differences.

A few days ago we saw stones that had the old Slavic letters carved in them. Here they were selling wooden versions of those ancient Slavic letters with a key so you could figure out what your letters should be.

greta combsI somehow thought this was an English myth. Did it actually originate in what is now Croatia?

The stone city gate in what once was a fortress

Today, the most famous and only preserved old city gate in Zagreb is the Stone Gate, which is believed to have been built in 1266. It is located in a building that is the remains of a fortress, and is shaped like a rectangular tower with a carriageway.
